San Jose"
A Song in the Wilderness, takes you from the humble
beginnings of this "Queen of the Mission," through it's rise and fall,
and to it's 20th century resurrection.
Woven
into the colourful fabric of it's history is the presence of
music that is born of it's indigenous people. The songs of the Mariachi
De
Colores have echoed inside, against the thick stone
walls, of the mission
church for over twenty five years. These hymns,
which can be heard at every Sunday's noon mass, help to carry on
a tradition that has it's roots in the early 1700's at Mission San Jose.
